United Way Oxford will kick off its next fundraising campaign at the Ingersoll Golf Club on September 15th.
INGERSOLL - September is about to begin, which means United Way Oxford is about to begin its next fundraising campaign.
The official kick off event will be taking place the Ingersoll Golf Club on Monday September 15th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Resource Development Manager Amanda Kreiger says the tagline this year is Change Our Tomorrow, Today.
"We're going for that hope that today we can do something that impacts somebody's life forever. Those small little acts whether it's volunteering or donating so we can have these programs, today makes a difference for the next generation."
The campaign kick off is a great way to learn more about United Way, all while enjoying a delicious lunch. The Wes Magill Award will also be presented to a local business for their contributions to United Way and the community as a while.
Kreiger tells us about the guest speaker they have lined up for the event.
"Our guest speaker this year is Sherry Garner who will come and have a conversation with us about growing up in rural Oxford County, some of the challenges she faced, and what was there to help her cope."
Tickets cost $30 each and they can be purchased online here.
Amanda Kreiger stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Thursday August 28th. You can listen to the full interview below:
