A 35 year old from London was arrested after clocking two strangers in the face for seemingly no reason on Saturday morning in Stratford.
STRATFORD - Stratford Police have arrested a 35 year old man from London after a couple of unprovoked assaults.
Police say Jonathan Halfyard punched a man in the face on Huron Street Saturday morning who was standing in line at the local Home Hardware. The punch was unprovoked and without provocation. The victim fell and hit his head against a metal sheet roof before hitting the ground.
Police say Halfyard fled the area immediately and then came across a person walking their dog on Centre Street about a half hour later. Again police say he punched the victim in the face for seemingly no reason.
Officers tracked him down a short while later on Erie Street. He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault and mischief.
The victim in the Home Hardware incident is a 62 year old man from Stratford who had to be taken to the hospital because of the assault. The other victim was a 46 year old man from Stratford who suffered minor injuries to his face.
