UTRCA GM Ian Wilcox has announced he's retiring this Spring after 30 years with the Conservation Authority, including the past 17 as the General Manager.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has started recruiting for a new General Manager.
Ian Wilcox has announced he will be retiring this Spring. Wilcox has worked at the UTRCA for 30 years and spent the last 17 as the General Manager. He started out with a summer job at Wildwood Conservation Area in 1985.
Wilcox says he is going to miss working with everyone at the Conservation.
"It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement from the UTRCA. I've had the opportunity to work with some of the best and most respected people in the environmental field. We have accomplished so much together, thanks to the enthusiasm, dedication, and hard work of our staff team, and the leadership of our Board."
Wilcox also wants to wish his replacement well and is confident the UTRCA will emerge stronger than ever.
"The new staff leadership will continue to build on the UTRCA's 70 plus year legacy. There will be someone new at the helm but I know that the staff and Board will ensure that the organization continues to be a strong and respected advocate for environmental health."
The search has started for Wilcox's replacement and the UTRCA expects to have someone in place by mid April.
