It could be until June before some seniors in Ontario get vaccinated as retired General Rick Hillier offered a vaccine distribution update this morning.
ONTARIO - Vaccinations for seniors over 80 won't start in Ontario until March 22nd.
Chair of the COVID-19 Vaccination Task Force and retired General Rick Hillier made the announcement this morning. He says people 75 years and older can expect to get their shots in mid-April. Those 70 and older in May and anyone over 65 by the beginning of June. Essential workers of all ages can start getting vaccinated in May.
People over 60 will have to wait until July and then the hope is everyone else will get it in the summer, leading up to the Fall.
The online booking portal for COVID-19 vaccines should be up and running by March 15th. Ontario is currently behind most Provinces when it comes to vaccine distribution.
