Vets Lead Series Heading into Game 6

The Navy Vets enter Game 6 tonight in Paris with a chance to end the series. Woodstock recently played three games over a four-day stretch against Paris, including one on Family Day.

PARIS - It's Game 6 tonight between the Woodstock Navy Vets and Paris Mounties.

Woodstock holds a 3-2 series lead and will attempt to end it tonight on the road.

Head coach Darren Young says he expects their opponent to be prepared.

"They're going to be desperate, we're going to have match that desperation because quite frankly we have to play desperate. If you squander an opportunity like that then you go back home to Game 7, and it's just a one game showdown and anything can happen. So you really got to take your opportunity and when you have a team down like that or you have an opportunity to put a team out, you really have to play desperate and play like you're down almost because we know that they're going to come out with the best game, their A game, their best game of the year. I have no doubt in my mind."

Woodstock recently played three games over a four-day stretch against Paris, including one on Family Day.

They were edged 2-1 in overtime the night before, which saw the series tied at 2-2 heading into the Family Day matchup.

Young says the atmosphere on Monday gave them a little bit of a boost.

"I know we've done the Family Day game a couple of years ago and it was a big hit so we were kind of intrigued on how it would be again and it delivered."

About 1,200 fans were in attendance on Family Day, which he says was one of their best crowds of the year.

Young says playing on the road could probably help Woodstock.

"It's just going in and executing and doing what we need to do to be successful and if we do that I think we have a good chance. In saying that, you never know and like I said Paris is a good team and they're going to give us their A game and we're going to have to show up and give them our A game."

The puck drops at 7:00 pm.
