The popularity of online ticket sales means job cuts at Woodstock's VIA Station. As of October 25, the station will be completely automated when it comes to ticket sales. VIA Rail spokesperson Mylene Belanger says one full time and two part time positions will be cut as a result of this announcement. "Once there are people impacted in the decision, it's never easy to make. And we hope that they know, that those people know that we thank them for their dedication and their work". Belanger says the volume of passengers as well as the proximity to Brantford's busier station were also factors in the decision.
