Aspiring firefighters can now apply to become a volunteer firefighter in Ingersoll. The deadline is October 20th.
INGERSOLL - The Ingersoll Fire Service is looking for a volunteer firefighter.
Applicants are asked to drop off their resume and mandatory application to the attention of the Fire Chief at the Fire Hall no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday October 20th.
If you are interested, there are some qualifications that have to be met. They include having your Grade 12 education, a minimum G license, a passing grade on the Candidate Physical Ability Testing, an acceptable driver's abstract, an acceptable police background check (including vulnerable sector screening), and you must live within 2 kilometers of the Town boundary.
Any volunteer firefighter who is with the department will get a monthly honorarium, RRSP contributions, and counseling benefits.
