Hundreds of people attended the Walk for Alzheimer's Event in Woodstock on Saturday at the Aud.
WOODSTOCK - The Walk for Alzheimer's was a huge success Woodstock raising over $103,000 with more money expected to trickle in this week.
Hundreds of people attended the walk on Saturday at the Aud. Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of Oxford County Shelly Green.
"The money that is raised through the Walk for Alzheimer's events in Oxford County stays right here in Oxford County. The money goes towards the programs and services that we offer to people living with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, people who are caring for them, friends, family, community members, the general public and those who working with people who have dementia and Alzheimer's disease."
Green says they have a lot of people to thank for helping to walk all three walks a huge success this year in Oxford County.
"I really want to thank all of the sponsors, all of our prize sponsors, donors to our silent auction, donors to our door prizes, food donors, our walkers of course, all of our volunteers who helped in such significant ways, the people who have made donations to our walkers and I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the walks a huge success."
Green says they have exceeded their goal this year, raising over $152,000 at the three walks in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
