The virtual Walk for Alzheimer's raised about $128,000 last month and you can still donate to the cause online.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Alzheimer Society of Oxford County hosted a virtual Walk for Alzheimer's last month.
Executive Director Shelley Green says they were blown away by the community support.
"I'm so impressed and I am so thankful and amazed at our community here in Oxford County, right now we are sitting at around $128,000 that has been raised, we know that money will still come in over the next couple of weeks and you can still donate on our website."
All of the money raised locally, stays local and will go to support people living with dementia in Oxford County. Green says they have people ready and willing to help anyone and their loved ones battling dementia.
"We have staff available to speak with you and to put your mind at ease and to listen and to provide that support that is so necessary and so helpful."
The programs and services are being done virtually and over the phone right now and they have a whole range of programs that people can access.
