The PetValu Walk for Dog Guides will be taking over the Trillium Trail in Beachville on May 31st.

OXFORD - The PetValu Walk for Dog Guides is back for another year.

It's scheduled for Sunday, May 31st and Jennifer Harrington is chairing the local event here in Oxford County. She gives us all the details.

"It's at Jakeman's Maple Farm which is between Beachville and Sweaburg. It starts at 1:00 p.m. and we have the Trillium Trail across from us."

The local Lions clubs will be serving up hotdogs afterward and Harrington says they will also have local vendors on site.

"We have a vendor that sells homemade dog treats. There will be a couple of other things for sale as well like bandanas and bags."

All of the proceeds will support The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, which has been providing people in need with specially trained guide dogs since 1983. About 25 dog guides graduate from the school in Oakville each month and a new state of the art facility is currently in the works.

You can learn more about the Walk for Dog Guides and register for the event online here.

Jennifer Harrington stopped by the Heart FM studio with her guide dog Tatum on Friday, May 15th. You can listen to the full interview below:
