WOODSTOCK - The Walk-It for Parkinson's fundraiser in Woodstock on Sunday raised over $7,100 this year.
Several people came out on Sunday to take part in the 1 km and 5 km routes around Southside Park. Special Events Coordinator Tanya Park says most people dedicated their walk to that special someone who has been touched by Parkinson's disease.
"What we do each and every year is, members of people's families or friends, they come together to show their support and solidarity and help us to raise the much needed dollars for research, for education and for advocacy for those living with the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease."
Since the walks in South western Ontario have started, we have raised over $6 millions dollars for Parkinson's research.
