The 13th Annual Oxford Children's Water Festival will offer a sneak preview for World Water Day.
WOODSTOCK - Students from Roch Carrier Public School will get the first chance to experience the 13th annual Children's Water Festival this year.
The kids will get a chance to experience all of the Water Festival stations before it opens to the everyone on May 15th for four days at Pittock Conservation Park. Festival Coordinator Linda Smith explains what she hopes the kids will take away from the event this year.
"We are excited to be bringing the Children’s Water Festival back to Woodstock. We hope the Festival will awaken children’s connection to water and their role in finding innovative ways to conserve it and to adapt to climate change."
Environmental Education Coordinator at the Thames Valley District School Board Erin Mutch says they look forward to the water festival every year.
"The Water Festival is such an engaging learning opportunity for our students where they are provided with a variety of active and interesting stations to explore for the day. We are so pleased to be able to offer this event for our students, and are thankful for the collaborative work of the festival committee."
The Water festival features 5 new stations this year including an Augmented Reality Sandbox. They are also hosting a French Day on Thursday, May 15th with French Immersion and French Language Students.
