Water was flooding on the street of Fyfe Ave after a watermain break this morning around 9. This has also caused reduced water pressure in the south end of the City.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock Water Department is dealing with a large water main break this morning at the intersection of Fyfe and College Avenue.
The water is flooding on the street. People are being asked to avoid the area. The break was likely caused by the cold blast of air this morning. This has caused reduced water pressure on the south end of the City as well.
Oxford County Public Works has put out an update on the break:
"Oxford County Public Works is reporting a water main break this morning at the corner of College Avenue and Fyfe Street in Woodstock. Fortunately, positive pressure was maintained in the water main and it has been isolated for repair.
While the water is safe for consumption, residents in the area may notice water pressure fluctuations and potentially discoloured water. If you have discoloured water, please run your cold water taps until water clears.
The County is working with its contracted service provider (City of Woodstock) to complete repair of the water main as quickly as possible. Please watch for further updates."
