Woodstock and District Developmental Services is making plans for their youth summer program, after receiving a big cheque from the city.
WOODSTOCK - It may only be February, but Woodstock and District Developmental Services is already looking forward to the warmer months.
Mayor Trevor Birtch says they're making plans after receiving a big cheque from the city.
"This presentation was for WDDS and for special summer time programming that they offer for youth up to age 21 that have disabilities or developmental challenges."
Birtch tells us more about the donation.
"It was $8,000 and that will help so many young people really enjoy their summer."
All of the money was generated at the local Gateway Casinos location on Nellis Street. OLG provides the city with about $1.3 million in revenue each year, for being a host city for one of their gambling hot spots.
