OXFORD /BRANT - Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the day for Oxford and Brant counties.
It is recommended to secure any loose lawn decor as strong southwesterly winds are expected to gust to 80 km/h by this afternoon. The strong winds may toss objects or cause tree branches to break. Residents should be prepared for possible power outages as well.
A sharp cold front blasting through Southwestern Ontario will cause the southeasterly winds to shift into the southwest by early afternoon, with frequent gusts of 70 to 80 km/h expected.
Wind gusts may approach 90 km/h this afternoon especially in exposed areas in Brant County.
The strong southwesterly winds will veer into the west and ease this evening.
