Wellkin Child and Youth Mental Wellness is increasing capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic and offering counselling over the phone and online with a Tele/Virtual Counselling Support Service.
WOODSTOCK - Wellkin Child and Youth Mental Wellness is staying open during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They have shifted things around, so they can perform more counselling over the phone and online. The physical office locations are closed and they have shifted their efforts and increased capacity in response to the needs of our community in support of family resilience.
Here is a statement from Executive Director Mamta Chail:
Our Tele/Virtual Counselling Support Service allows us to continue to support children and youth and families impacted by mental health challenges or help by providing strategies that will contribute to mental health and family resilience during this time of uncertainty. In an effort to help our communities easily access services, we are pleased to offer our new online referral process. In a few simple steps, we will support children, youth and families in connecting with Wellkin staff through telephone and/or virtual counselling.
1. Access our Counselling Support Service by clicking this tab
2. Complete a simple questionnaire.
3. A Wellkin Team member will contact you to identify your specific needs and connect you with a specialized Wellkin staff or therapist.
4. A Therapist or Staff member will schedule a time to connect via phone.
5. We Listen. We Talk. We Plan. We support!
Staff will provide support over the phone Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and on Friday from 8:30-4 pm. Any child, youth or family member in need of support, including those that maybe facing a heightened level of anxiety or other mental health issues during these tough times, can contact Wellkin at 519-539-0463 and schedule an appointment. This practice will be in place until April 6, 2020 and re-evaluated at that time.
As always, after agency hours, in collaboration with the London Crisis & Intake Team (C-IT), the Crisis Services is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling: 519-539-0463 or 1-877-539-0463.
