Hundreds of firefighters, helicopters and water bombers have been battling wildfires in northern Ontario.
ONTARIO - More than 180 wildfires are burning across northern Ontario.
Hundreds of firefighters, helicopters and water bombers are battling the flames. In a video posted yesterday, Premier Doug Ford thanked the help that has arrived from Alberta and the Yukon
Ford also pledged his support for those affected yesterday. He said the province will spare no expense when it comes to protecting people and supporting firefighting efforts.
Prime Minister Mark Carney says Ottawa is ready to provide whatever assistance is required, and it's working closely with provincial, municipal and Indigenous leaders.
Evacuation orders have been issued for Armstrong, Collins, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac La Croix and Lac des Mille Lacs First Nations and officials say say all known residents have been accounted for.
