Kids throughout the region can submit their 250-word essay online for a chance to win $1,000 in CCM hockey equipment, which runs every year for active hockey players across Ontario.
OXFORD COUNTY - Kids in Oxford County are eligible to win a $1,000 from the OMHA with an essay writing contest.
Manager of Communications for the OMHA Matt Rhodes says they run this contest every year for every active player in the Province.
"The theme this year is, I love hockey because... We want everyone to start the essay with that, it is 250 words and you can submit your essay online at OMHA.net and the winner will receive $1,000 in CCM gear and we will have some runner up prizes as well."
The OMHA also offers several bursaries through the Dairy Farmers of Ontario for active players. Rhodes says you can submit an application for the bursaries online now.
"They have been gracious enough to give us 5 $8,000 bursaries to award. It is a mix of community activation, academics and really just community spirit. We are really thankful to our partners at the Dairy Farmers of Ontario for this. They really stand for community engagement and it is something we are proud to work with them on."
