Toronto's Winspiration Day celebration is right around the corner and there might be a lot of local kids in attendance.
WOODSTOCK - A local Winspiration Day ambassador hoping to bring 100 under privileged kids to the Toronto celebration next month.
Hero Intelligent Agent Tammy Vallieres is looking for sponsors to help send Woodstock youth to the event at the CSI Annex Lounge on Sunday May 6th. She believes it would be a great experience for them, following the youth suicide crisis that made national headlines 2016.
"Our whole theme is on empowerment and we want to focus on even though bad things have happened to us, our life doesn't have to be bad and we don't have to stay there."
Lee Thibeault is a motivational speaker and mentor for kids with disabilities. He explains what Winspiration is all about.
"It's a day that brings mentors and children together to listen to children and hear what they have and the impact they want to have on earth and how we can continuously create change for the better of mankind."
The doors will open at 2pm and everything should wrap up by 5:30pm. The event will include multiple speakers, music by Connor D. Y. Morand and a magic show from Keith Brown.
It costs $10 to sponsor a child to go and you can do so online here.
Maya Health Food Centre and Pho' BINH THANH Canadian Vietnamese Restaurant have sponsored 10 youth to go so far.
