Winter Storm Warning Issued for Oxford County

Environment Canada is predicting about 20 to 30 centimetres of snow starting today and continuing through to Thursday morning. We could also get up to 2 centimetres per hour at times.

OXFORD COUNTY - Get your snow shovels out and ready!

A winter storm warning is now in effect for Oxford County. Environment Canada says we can expect about 20 to 30 centimetres of snow starting this morning and continuing through to Thursday morning. We could get up to 2 centimetres of snow per hour at times.

Environment Canada is encouraging drivers to postpone all non-essential travel until the conditions improve. The roads could become quite dangerous due to the accumulating snow and the heavy snowfall could also make it hard to see at times.

Southwestern Ontario Student Transportation Services has cancelled all of the buses for TVDSB and LDCSB students living in Oxford, Elgin and Middlesex. Francobus has also cancelled the buses for Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys and Notre Dame in Woodstock.

The Thames Valley District School Board has decided to close schools with bus transportation Elgin, Oxford, Middlesex County today. This means four TVDSB schools will be open in Oxford County (Algonquin PS, Eastdale PS, Northdale PS and Royal Roads PS).

All schools within the London District Catholic School Board and CSC Providence will be open today.
