High school students looking to enter a trade after graduation can apply for the $500 bursary.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors (WITAAR) continues to support local high school students.
It has a $500 bursary for high school students thinking about entering a trade after graduation. Seven high school students graduating from seven local high school students received it last year, and WITAAR President Cassandra Benard says they're offering it again this year.
"WITAAR is proud to continue its long-standing commitment to providing $500 trade bursaries to local secondary schools in Oxford County that are awarded to a student entering a trade upon their graduation. School Guidance Counselors are notified each spring about the application process and are encouraged to advertise within their schools that any student entering any trade can apply. The school then determines who is selected from these applicants, and at graduation a REALTOR® of our board will attend and present the student with their $500 bursary."
Students interested in getting the bursary this year should contact their high school guidance department.
