County Council decided to take Woodingford's capital dietary project out of the 2013 budget. County Councillor Pat Sobeski says the decision was about more than dietary services. "I think the larger issue is for council to decide what's going to happen with Woodingford in the bigger picture. Probably better off to have a consultant come in and decide what's the amount of subsidy that the county contributes because it has grown up to be a $9-million budget item." Earlier this fall, Council deferred the dietary project to their budget deliberations. It called for kitchens to be installed at the Ingersoll and Tillsonburg Lodge's to provide their meals in the future. That move would come with a capital cost, but would save the County on operating dollars in the long run. Even then, Council had an unenthusiastic response to the project. They've made it clear that they don't want to spend anymore on Woodingford. The dietary services will continue next year as they have in the past, which is provided by Ingersoll and Tillsonburg Hospitals.
