Nearly 3000 people have watched Woodingford Lodge resident's short film.
OXFORD COUNTY - Dignitaries from around the County visited Woodingford Lodge on Wednesday afternoon to watch the premiere of a short film that was put together by the residents. Warden of Oxford County David Mayberry joked that the film which was comprised of different happy songs would be nominated for best foreign film at next years Oscars. Director of Woodingford Lodge Corrie Fransen explained the reasoning behind the premiere.
"The purpose of it was to have fun together to be happy and it was a group of staff and residents who said we want to do something and that is when we decided we would do something happy and chose the happy songs. We started in November and had a wonderful time."
Fransen enjoyed how much fun the residents had during the filming process and thought that February was the best time for the film to be shown.
"February is a difficult time for most people certainly if you are in long term care it's difficult to get out when you have issues with wheelchairs and accessibility. We thought we would have a happy time in February and certainly this cold February has been just a perfect time to do just that."
Communication officer for Oxford County who also doubled as the director and producer Adam Nyp commented on how the residents reacted during the filming process.
"Everybody had an absolute blast producing this video. Everybody was always laughing and smiling and they all had good ideas in how they wanted to do different parts of the song. It was so much fun to produce, and I think you will get that sense when you watch the video and brings a smile to your face and we hope it has that effect on people."
The film which is about 4 and half minutes in length can be found on Oxford County's YouTube channel HERE.
The film has garnered nearly 3000 views on Youtube.
