With still no tenants lined up to take possession of the 3rd and 4th floor of the new Woodstock Art Gallery building, the Art Gallery itself is eyeing some of the space. In the Gallery's annual report to City Council on Thursday night, officials made it clear they're developing plans to take over the 3rd floor. Acting Curator Patricia Deadman explains how they'd utilize the space. "We are striving to develop ideas to occupy the 3rd floor to provide the required storage, preparatory work area, a resource library, and additional offices and programming space," said Deadman. Friends of the Gallery Chair, Connie Lauder says they have a long term goal of starting a fundraising campaign to renovate the 3rd floor. Lauder also says the Gallery is looking forward to hiring a new Art Installation Officer in the coming weeks. "The position is now in the process of being advertised. We are sure this position will be a great value to the everyday operation of the gallery," said Lauder. The Gallery has had success this year acquiring new works, both through purchasing and donations. The city's collection is worth $2.6-million.
