Organizers plan a full day of activities in Woodstock's Southside Park from a slow-pitch tournament at 9 a.m. to a 20-minute firework display at dusk
WOODSTOCK – Friendly City residents will revel in Canada Day festivities at Southside Park in Woodstock for the fourth year in a row on Tuesday.
The event marking Canada's 147th birthday will include food and retail vendors, rides, magic, music and fireworks.
Brad Janssen, the city's communications and special events manager says the day-long event promises to be, "excititing."
The celebrations will be in the North side of the park between the East and West diamonds, Janssen said.
- Co-ed slow-pitch tounament starts at 9:00 a.m.
- Rides and vendors scheduled to open at 2:00 p.m.
- Stage entertainment from 4:15 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m., including magic, martial arts and music
- Cutting of Canada Day cake at 5:45 p.m.
- 20-minute firework display scheduled to start at about 9:45 p.m.
"Wear your red, bring the family, tell your neighbours, it's going to be a big party on Tuesday," Jansen said.
"We ask that you car-pool because parking is at a premium, or walk to the park," he said, adding accessible parking can be found just off of South Street.
