An exhibit at the Embassy of Canada Art Gallery in Washington D.C. has a connection to the Friendly City.
WASHINGTON - The Mayor of Woodstock got to travel to Washington D.C. alongside the Director Curator of the Woodstock Art Gallery.
Jerry Acchione and Mary Reid attended a celebration for a special exhibition at the Embassy of Canada Art Gallery yesterday.
It's called Many Lives Mark This Place and it features portraits by John Hartman, which showcase award-winning Canadian authors in the landscapes that inspire them.
The Woodstock Art Gallery helped organize this travelling exhibition, with Reid selecting the artwork.
"As one of Canada’s most prominent artists, John Hartman’s work highlights the diverse people, landscapes and stories that form our unique national culture and identity. It’s been an incredible privilege to share this exhibition on the international stage."
Many Lives Mark This Place has already been featured in art galleries across Canada. It was also on display at the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom last year.
It has been on display at the Embassy of Canada Art Gallery since July and today is the last day it will be featured there.
