WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual General Meeting this afternoon at the Craigowan Oxford Golf and Country Club.
At the meeting they introduced 20 new Board of Directors and said goodbye to 5 outgoing board members. Members were also treated to a presentation from BDO guest speakers Brent Van Parys and Hali Van Vliet titled managing the seven dwarfs. They talked about communication and managing your team to their strengths and managing different personalities while focusing on strengths.
Chamber President Dave Coad tells Heart FM he was really impressed with the presentation. "I believe today that in my own business that communication is absolute, I believe that he was referring to family business planning where they sit down and meet as a group because it is important for one generation to sit down and pass on their skills to another generation."
The Board also went over the 2014 financial audited statements which saw a total profits for 2014 at $11,464. The Chamber did see a bit of decrease in the profits from 2013 which was a very strong year. Part of the reason for that is that some of the Chamber events weren't as well attended as they have been in the past.
