Some local charities received a huge donation yesterday from the Chamber of Commerce.
WOODSTOCK - The Christmas generosity continues with the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce donating some big coin to local charities.
3 cheques of $2,000 were given to Operation Sharing, The Power of Hope and the Children's Aid Society. This year will be the first that the Chamber has donated to these organizations. President of the Chamber of Commerce, Bob Armstrong hopes this will put some joy into the community.
"The Chamber has donated $2,000 to each of the 3 charities, the Children's Aid Society, The Power of Hope and Operation Sharing's The Christmas Place. And we did this because we want to give back to the community, we have hard working people in our community every year."
Armstrong also said they had funds at the end of the year and wanted to put it back into our community.
"It's just part of our fundraising through the year and we had some excess funds this year and we wanted to make sure it was spread through the community so that everyone got a chance to have a great Christmas on behalf of the Chamber."
