The Woodstock Choralaires will be celebrating 50 years of success by performing their greatest hits and some new material during 'Decades'
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Choralaires have performed across Canada and Europe, and now they are going to be showcasing their biggest hits from the past 50 years.
To celebrate 50 years of singing they will be putting on a special show called 'Decades.' Woodstock Choralaires Director Doug Shippey says you will hear music they have performed in the past, as well as some new material.
"It's from the decades and we put the show together. We did some of the things we've done in previous decades, but we've also picked things - we're doing Somebody to Love by Queen so it's a pretty big program."
They will also be performing songs from the Beatles and Adele. The Starlite Band will be accompanying them for this performance.
Woodstock Choralaires member Pat Lapier says looking back they have had an amazing time performing here at home and even going abroad.
"The last tour was to Italy and unfortunately I couldn't go, but I went in 2003 to Europe and went to Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, it was wonderful. So those tours have just been great for the Choralaires, plus they've been all over Canada."
Tickets for 'Decades' can be bought at Merrifield Book Shop, Choralaire Members at 519-536-7630, or on Ticketscene.ca. They cost $25 for reserved seating or $20 for general admission.
The show is on Saturday, April 30th at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. There are two performances - a matinee at 2:00 p.m. and a evening performance at 7:30 p.m.
