Woodstock City Council has tweaked the Municipal Alcohol Policy to add a new location and to ensure clarity
WOODSTOCK - The city of Woodstock has tweaked the Municipal Alcohol Policy.
Cowan Fields - formerly known as the East Recreation Complex - has officially been added to the list of city facilities.
City Clerk Amy Humphries says all of the other updates were very minor.
"The rest of the updates were really just to clarify some wording and make sure that things were more clear in the policy but it actually doesn't change the policy at all excluding the Cowan Fields piece."
For example the policy now refers to Woodstock Police specifically instead of Oxford Community Police.
Humphries explains the purpose behind the policy.
"The Municipal Alcohol Policy only applies to city owned and operated facilities; for example you may have a baseball tournament at one of our parks or hold a wedding at Goff Hall. On top of the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) and LLBO (Liquor Licensing Board of Ontario) regulations, these are alcohol related stipulations that apply strictly to our facilities."
