The Learn to Curl program is back at the Woodstock Curling Centre. The program will be held over two sessions, with the first beginning on October 16th from 6:00-8:00 pm.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Curling Centre is going to be holding curling lessons next month.
The program is called Learn To Curl and it is offered to all skill levels.
Club Representative Jim Visser says it is popular among all ages.
"You will be taught the game right from the basics. They don't need any equipment, all you need is a desire and clean indoor shoes and we'll provide all the equipment, the facilities and all the coaching from how to slide, how to sweep and how to play the game."
Participants will be taught by certified and experienced instructors teaching lessons in balance and proper delivery of a curling stone, mechanics of sweeping, curling etiquette and more.
The program will offer two seven week sessions in the fall and winter, held on Wednesday evenings. The winter session will be held on February 5th.
Visser says they have been running it for a few years.
"We had a really good, strong program last year. And the Learn To Curl program, this is for adults as well so we had the evening program, we had a really strong attendance last year for both sessions. And we have a lot of people returning and we'd like to run the whole thing again."
Visser adds they'll be putting the ice in this month before the fall session starts in mid-October.
It costs $95.00 and you can sign up online or they can phone their office at 519-539-9512. The centre is on 114 Beale Street.
The first session goes on October 16th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
