The over 35 Men's soccer team for Woodstock FC will play in the semi-finals of the Ontario Cup this weekend.
WOODSTOCK - It is a huge match for Woodstock FC's Masters team.
On Saturday, they will host Thornhill NextArt Madrid in the semi-finals of the Ontario Cup. Player, Iain Hume speaks to what it took to get to this point.
"We've won two games away from home. We played a team called SPG Red Devils and we beat them 3-0. Then we drew against Jagiellonia from London, they have been our kind of achillies heal, but we took them to penalties, and we knocked them out on penalties 2 weeks ago."
This edition of the Master's club has only been around for three years, and Hume mentions it is the furthest they have gone in the Ontario Cup. He adds they lost in the quarter-final last year, and says a full crowd will go a long way this time around.
"And I know people say it's like an old cliche about having the 12th man, which is the fans, and it's a tough place to come Cowan Park when we do have it filled."
The match starts at 5 p.m. and will be on Guarantee Prem Field at Cowan Park.
