The Woodstock Fire Department was able to put out a fire over the holidays.
WOODSTOCK, ON – Woodstock Fire Department responded to a fire at an apartment building.
The incident happened on December 31st close to 10:00pm after firefighters saw smoke entering the second floor of the apartment building on 784 Hughson Street.
One person was home at the time of the fire but they were able to escape safely with one of their pets.
There was some damage, however firefighters were able to knock the fire down quickly to limit the spread and damage to surrounding units. The damage is estimated around $50,000.00.
The fire is still under investigation by the Fire Prevention Division.
The Woodstock Fire Department wants to remind you to test your smoke alarms today and ensure they are working.
