WOODSTOCK - The holiday season is upon us and safety is at the forefront.
The Woodstock Fire Department wants to help spread the word about a new campaign that has been launched. Fire Prevention Officer, Lukasz Kasprzyk says it is important to maintain safe habits over the holiday season.
"Woodstock's Fire Chief and Fire Prevention Staff are unveiling our new winter poster campaign. The targets are preventing cooking fires and smoking fires."
Kasprzyk says there is one major factor when it comes to fires over the holidays.
"Prevention is the key when it comes to cooking or smoking fires because the common factor would be the carelessness factor when it comes to smoking and cooking."
Kasprzyk mentions this holiday season, if everyone can work together to minimize the need for firefighters to respond to incidents, which could be avoided, it would be a great season.
You will be able to see the posters on City buses and bus shelters.
