The expansion of the Woodstock Fire Hall is going smoothly.
WOODSTOCK - The expansion of the Fire Hall in Woodstock is running smoothly.
Acting Fire Chief, Jeff Slager says it's building quickly.
"If you drive by now, you will see the structure is up for a while there you didn't see a lot going on because it's a hole in the ground and the prepping of that. But once the steel goes up and everything you do notice a drastic change and it starts to look like an actual building. Things are going smoothly and we're very excited about that."
Slager describes some of the new additions coming to the fire hall.
"A couple additional office spaces on the main floor. We'll have additional bunk and training spaces on the second floor. On the wheel floor side we're expanding to one additional bay. It will be a drive through bay. So we can enter through the back and drive through. It will help us with our larger apparatus."
The two million dollar project has been in the works for a few years.
They hope to hold a formal open house to show off the new additions in spring of next year.
