Bullying and safe communities were the topics of discussion as Oxford's MP and special guests toured schools in Oxford County.

OXFORD COUNTY - Three schools in Oxford County were visited by special guests.

Oxford MP Arpan Khanna joined forces with Batman, Woodstock Police, the OPP, and the Woodstock Fire Department and went to Harrisfield Public School, Turtle Island Public School, and St. Michael’s Catholic School.

Through engaging conversations with students, the community leaders and local first responders highlighted the importance of treating others with respect and understanding the role everyone plays in building safer, stronger communities. Khanna talked about why it was a great idea to tour the schools.

"Being a good citizen starts at a young age. It means treating others with kindness, standing up against bullying, and looking out for the people around us. It was great to see the students engaged and excited to learn, especially with Batman joining us! I’m grateful to our local police, OPP members, and firefighters for the work they do every day to keep our communities safe."

Khanna shares more thoughts about the tours.

"Strong communities start with engaged, respectful, and responsible young people. By teaching our children about kindness, respect, and safety, we are helping build a better future for Oxford County."

Khanna thanked the participating schools, educators, Woodstock police, OPP members, and Woodstock firefighters for helping make the visits a success.
