Woodstock Hospital Receives Accreditation Canada’s Stroke Distinction Award

Surveyors with Accreditation Canada visited the Woodstock Hospital to review and evaluate stroke rehabilitative care and services.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Hospital has been awarded accreditation to be recognized as a Canadian Stroke Distinction Care unit.

The award recognizes health organizations that demonstrate clinical excellence and outstanding commitment to leadership in stroke care.

Sherry McKnight, the Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation and Complex Care, says the hospital is committed to providing clinical excellence and best-practice stroke care.

"Through the collective efforts of our interdisciplinary teams, patient advisors, and community partners, we are improving the overall outcomes for our patients and families living with stroke."

Accreditation Canada's Stroke Distinction program is a rigorous condition-specific assessment program. Surveyors attended the hospital and evaluated five key areas: Standards; Protocols; Key Quality Indicators; Excellence and Innovation; and Client and Family Education.

The accreditation will last from 2022-2026 and you can find more details in the Facebook post below:
