The Woodstock Legion Branch 55 is very excited to open their doors to the public again on Saturday.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Legion Branch 55 is set to open on Saturday.
They have been closed since the pandemic was declared in March. Several legions in the Province are struggling right now as non profits, as they try to stay afloat.
Office Manager Deb Adamson says they were lucky enough to receive a grant.
"It's been hard, the Government of Ontario Command issued funds to some branches and we were fortunate enough, because we have restarted again two years ago with a new branch, so they gave us some funding to help us through this but we are just keeping our head above water and hoping to bring in more revenue and move forward with new things to come."
Adamson says they are very excited to open again on Saturday.
"We are allowed to reopen, we can have 50 people in our branch and we are excited to welcome back everyone and if you need a place to cool off, come on in and have a drink."
She says they will have some guidelines in place.
"The bartender will be responsible for counting the amount of people in the branch, we will have hand sanitizer and Plexiglas around the bar to make sure the safety needs are met."
They will be resuming the dart league and they have shuffleboard table that will be available. They will have new hours Monday and Tuesday 3-7 pm, Wednesday and Friday 3-10 pm, Thursday from 1-7 pm and on Saturday from 1-10 pm.
They will not be serving food right away, however you can bring in your own food and they are hoping to bring back wing night next month.
