WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Library may be closed to the public, however they are finding ways to serve residents online.
CEO David Harvie says a number of people have already used the E-Card program that allows people to apply and renew library cards online.
"As of yesterday, we have issued 47 new cards and have renewed 40 other library cards via this service. As you know, 1 in 3 Woodstock residents are active Library users, so Woodstock."
Harvie says they are lending more digital copies of books, music, graphic novels and movies than ever before. They are also very active on Social Media right now.
"Our social media engagements have increased since we started doing this. We are putting out things like suggested book titles for adults and kids on our Hoopla and Cloud Library platforms. We have done a photograph challenge for teens for Earth Day and on Friday, we have a Happy Book Face day and that is when staff are using book cover art as their faces and photos."
They are also promoting the Freegal music service offered by the Library which allows you to stream music for free for up to four hours every day or download 5 songs for free every week. You can find all of this information and so much more on the Woodstock Library web site here or by following them on Facebook.
