The Woodstock Museum will launch two new exhibits on Family Day. Sikhs in Canada will be on display until April 29th and you will have until May 27th to check out the COVID Stories exhibit.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Museum is opening two brand new exhibits for Family Day.
COVID Stories is a community-based project that invited residents in Oxford County to share their pandemic story through a series of writing, artwork, photos, and artifacts for future generations of historians.
Curator Karen Houston says that even though we are still writing COVID history, it's important to look at the bigger picture.
"This exhibit encourages us to take a step back and reflect on the last three years of lockdowns, social distancing, reopening, and resilience."
COVID Stories will launch on Monday and it will be on display until May 27th.
Also debuting on February 20th is an exhibit that was organized by the Sikh Heritage Museum of Canada. Sikhs in Canada is a timeline exhibit that explores the link between Canada and Sikhs from 1809 to the present day.
The SHMC was founded in 2014 and focuses its efforts on advancing and improving knowledge of the Sikh community through lectures and special programming.
Sikhs in Canada will be on display until April 29th, coinciding with Sikh Heritage Month.
The Woodstock Museum will be open on Family Day celebrating its 75th Anniversary. Free activities are taking place from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. For more information visit the city website here.
