Woodstock Navy Vets to Fill the Net for Hunter Weston Tonight

The Navy Vets will be collecting new unwrapped toy donations during their home game at Southwood arena tonight in memory of Hunter Weston. All of the donations will be going to the Children's Health Foundation in London tomorrow.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Vets will try to fill the net with more than just pucks tonight.

The Junior C hockey team will be collecting new unwrapped toy donations during tonight's home game against the Tavistock Braves at Southwood Arena. The puck will drop at 7:45 p.m. and it's also Minor Hockey Night, so kids who play minor hockey will get into the game for free if they wear their jersey.

All of the donations will be going to a toy drive that's being run by 7-year-old Nolan Petch. He's doing it in memory of his cousin and best friend Hunter Weston and all of the toys, gift cards and cash donations will be dropped off at the Children's Health Foundation in London tomorrow. This means tonight is your last chance to donate to the cause.

Hunter Weston passed away earlier this year following a courageous battle with cancer. He was only four-years-old and his story captured the hearts of people across Oxford County. Next Saturday, December 18th, would have been his fifth birthday.

The Woodstock Navy Vets will also wrap up their online auction this weekend. You have until tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. to bid on your favourite items online here.
