WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Association in conjunction with the Police Association of Ontario has donated $3,000 to the Salvation foodbank today.
President of the WPA Mike Roulty says more and more people are relying on foodbanks and they wanted to help out.
“Members of the Woodstock Police Service come into contact daily with citizens of the community who are struggling for various reasons. Given the current circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, it has created a higher than normal demand for the foodbank. The WPA membership and PAO saw an opportunity to assist the Salvation Army and we know that this donation will go a long way to helping many individuals and families within our communities."
The WPA is comprised of approximately 120 uniform and civilian members from the rank and file within the Police Service.
