Woodstock Police Briefs – December 11th 2017

Woodstock Police briefs include three car accidents, a trailer theft, two break and enters and a domestic violence arrest.

WOODSTOCK - No injuries are reported after Woodstock Police responded to three collisions.

This first one took place at around 6pm Thursday on the corner of Lansdowne Ave and Bysham Park Drive. The two vehicle collision resulted in about $10,000 in damages and one of the drivers was charged.

The second accident was in the area of Devonshire Ave and Oxford Road 4 that same evening. Another driver was charged after that collision caused $15,000 in damage.

The last accident happened on Friday on intersection of Juliana Drive and Finkle Street. It was the most expensive collision out of the three; resulting in approximately $30,000 damage. Police also charged a driver in that incident.

WOODSTOCK – A 37 year old Woodstock man is facing charges after Woodstock Police responded to a domestic violence call.

He has been charged with uttering threats, assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Sergeant Don McKenzie encourages domestic violence victims to speak out.

“Domestic violence does and can occur anywhere and to anyone. Please do not suffer in silence. There is help available and we urge anyone with knowledge of these types of incidents to please contact police. It is only with the assistance of the community that we can help to protect the victims of Domestic Violence.”

WOODSTOCK – Woodstock Police are investigating after an enclosed trailer was stolen on Seagrave Road.

The trailer was carrying two snowmobiles when the theft occurred overnight on Saturday.

Officers say thieves also tried to steal a pickup truck from a locked compound on Keyes Drive that same night.

WOODSTOCK – Woodstock Police are encouraging people to report any suspicious activity, as they investigate a couple of break and enters in the Friendly City.

The first break in happened sometime between 9:40am and 10:30am on Grosvenor Street. A number of electronics have been reported stolen from the residence. The theft is valued at about $100.

The second break in took place between 10am and 3pm the next day. Alcohol and electronics valued at $500 have reported stolen.
