Four separate cases in Woodstock result in arrests and charges.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police continue to make sure the streets of the city are safe.
From Friday until yesterday, officers made four arrests and laid charges in all the cases. The first incident happened on Friday at 11 p.m. when officers found a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of motel in the City. Two men from Brantford have been arrested and are facing charges after police found the stolen keys, along with cocaine and methamphetamine.
Also on Friday around 11 p.m. an impaired driver was arrested after a vehicle hit a curb on Hounsfield Street. Police received a call from a witness, which led them to the vehicle and driver. A 62-year-old Woodstock man is facing an impaired driving charge after breath samples were twice the legal limit.
Yesterday around 2 a.m. a witness called police as a vehicle was crossing into the centre lane on Dundas Street, and there was concern of impairment. Officers found the vehicle and as a result a 57-year-old Tillsonburg man is facing an impaired driving charge after having more than twice the legal limit in his system.
Also yesterday, police were called to a hotel at 9:30 p.m. after a man would not leave the property. The man was asked to leave multiple times by police, but refused to listen. He ended up punching one of the officers in the face resulting in minor injuries to the officer. As a result, a 38-year-old man from Kitchener was charged with assaulting a police officer.
