Police Briefs include dog left in a hot vehicle and police using a taser on a drunk man on Norwich Ave.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police to called to a parking lot on Norwich Ave after getting a report of a dog left inside a hot car.
When officers arrived they found the pet inside the vehicle in the hot sun and the windows down a little. The dog was panting heavily. Police did find the 51 year old female owner of the vehicle and warned her about the dangers of leaving pets in hot cars.
A man was tasered in Woodstock after officers responded to a call at a business on Norwich Ave early Monday morning. Police say the man was drunk and was going to drive his vehicle. He become aggressive towards police and challenged the officer to a fight. When police dried to de-escalate the situation, it made the man angrier. He was belligerent and swearing and bumped an officer. Police then tasered him and arrested him without further incident.
Woodstock Police were called to a home on St. Andrew Road after a number of tools were stolen. Police say someone entered the unlocked garage early Friday morning and stole about $3,500 worth of tools. Police are reminding the public to lock their doors on their homes and vehicles.
And finally a 23 year old and woman and a 28 year old man from Woodstock were arrested for trying to break into a cash register at a business on Dundas Street. Police were called on Sunday night and arrested the pair without incident. The woman was on court ordered conditions not to be with the man and was arrested for breach of probation. The man was arrested for possession of hydromorphone and breaching a court order.
