Woodstock Police Investigating 8 Thefts From the Past Week

The thefts include a child's bike and around $7,000 in tools and several vehicle entries.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are investigating 8 thefts in the Friendly City over the past week.

This includes vehicle entries on Oxford Street, Sloane Street and Young Street. The vehicle on Young street was ransacked and police are searching for a man with white short dark hair, wearing a reflective sweater, dark jeans and carrying a cross body bag. The man was rolling a bicycle alongside him.

Other thefts include a storage unit that had several items removed last Saturday on Main Street.

On Sunday, a property was entered on Norwich Street and around $7,000 in tools was taken from the locked compound area.

An adult sized trike was taken from a home on Alice Street on May 23. The owner of the trike is disabled and is pleading for it's safe return.

Someone cut the bike lock and removed the trike from the carport. It is described as being light blue in colour with a basket on the back. Police would like to thank the callers who have been providing tips on similar looking bikes. Anyone with information is asked to make contact with the Woodstock Police Service.

A child's bike meanwhile was stolen from a home on Karn Avenue on Thursday. The bike would only fit a child between the ages of 7-12 and is described as having an orange frame with gold writing.

Then today an E-bike was stolen from a Dundas Street residence. The E-bike is described as a red and black GIO.

Anyone with information on any of these crimes is asked to contact Woodstock Police or Crime Stoppers.

Editor's Note: This article previously included the theft of 22 lawn signs on George Street in Woodstock, asking motorists to slow down. We removed the theft after getting confirmation from the City, that they removed the signs because the resident did not have permission to erect them on public property.
