WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police Service are proud to welcome nine new members to our Auxiliary Policing Unit.
These members were sworn in on April 29, 2019 and are eager for deployment to assist with community policing initiatives. Woodstock Police Chief Bill Renton says being a member of an Auxiliary Police unit provides you with unparalleled insight into policing and is a great job for anyone looking to get into policing as a career.
"Our Service is grateful for the dedication and professionalism that our Auxiliary Officers provide to our community."
Auxiliary members patrol with uniform officers and play big roles in community events; including the Santa Claus Parade and the Holiday Train.
Both the Deputy Chief Darren Sweazey and the current Chief Bill Renton started their policing careers as auxiliary officers.
