The city has received $1,618,458 from the OLG this past fiscal year, which started in April 2023 and ended last month.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has received a cheque for $435,261 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, also known as the OLG.
It's a fourth-quarter revenue payment for hosting Gateway Casinos, bringing the total for this fiscal year to $1,618,458.
Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy says Woodstock has received a total of $26,896,687 since the casino first opened in 2001.
"For decades, profits from gaming have been an important source of funding for Ontario communities, helping to deliver vital services and making a real difference for gaming host municipalities. This is one of the many different ways Ontario continues to create good-paying, local jobs that play a critical role in supporting our economy while ensuring a socially responsible gaming environment for people to enjoy.”
The City of Woodstock uses a portion of the OLG funds to support its community grants program.
