It's a fourth quarter gaming revenue payment for hosting Gateway Casinos.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has received a fourth quarter gaming revenue payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
It's worth $409,479 and brings the total for the fiscal year to $1,698,460.
The City receives these payments for hosting Gateway Casinos, and the money is set aside for its Community Grants Program.
The local casino first opened in June 2001, and Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says the City has received $25,595,147 since then.
"Gateway Casinos Woodstock strengthens our community through sharing gaming revenue that supports local priorities and programs. In addition to job creation and community support, the Municipality Contribution Agreement with OLG delivers substantial benefits to Woodstock."
