Woodstock sees over $430,000 in the second quarter from OLG. The money comes as the Friendly City hosts a Gateway Casino.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has received a cheque for $433,958 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
It's a second quarter revenue payment for hosting Gateway Casinos. The Friendly City has received $785,883 from the OLG so far this year.
Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy says the OLG is happy to partner with its gaming communities.
"Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help these municipalities fund priorities such as community infrastructure, parks and recreation and local health care facilities, benefiting families and local residents."
When you look at the grand total dating back to when the Woodstock casino first opened in June 2001, the city has received $26,064,113 from the OLG.
The money is set aside for the Community Grants program.
